Veteran reporter Charles Wiley discusses the great responsibilities students will soon assume. They will be making the decisions that will guide their communities and our nation. It is therefore crucial that they understand the news media. Wiley explains that the media will have more influence on students’ lives than anything except their own decisions. Their lifestyles and standard of living could be changed dramatically in the near future if the United States makes the wrong judgments. Their freedoms could be curtailed or even lost completely.
